The History of Me and Acrylic Paint on Canvas

From the moment that I could hold a cheap, plastic paintbrush, I was painting. Laying newspaper across the dining room table, my mom would set out printer paper, watercolor pallettes, and mugs of water for my siblings and I to paint with. In elementary school art classes, we used washable poster paints in addition to watercolors. It took a long time for me to upgrade my medium to something less washable and "kid friendly"

When I was finally in a high school art class, we built our own frame, streatched and primed our own canvas and painted landscapes in acrylic. I deeply enjoyed this style of work. While acrylics may not blend as seemlessly as oils, I appriciate how fast it dries, allowing me to add new layers and fix mistakes quickly. I recieved many paintbrushes, old canvases and canvas boards from my grandmother, who was frankly a magician with oil paints until she developed severe tremors in her hands.

These days, I hope to get back into painting on canvas, as I have mostly been using my paints to customize ceramic and vynl figurines. You will be able to view my recent works in my samples.
