About Me as a Storyteller

Skip The Backstory?

There may be many facets to my personality. However, from the moment that my imagination could form thoughts, I have been a story-teller. Most of my stories when I was little stayed in my head, came out in play with friends and family, or were told through crude scribbles. As I began to write in first grade, I was able to express these stories a bit better, especially with my first grade teacher helping with spelling and grammar (Thanks Mrs. A!). Throughout elementary school, I continued making stories. Most of them were still just daydreams or playing pretend, but my school was very good with developing writing skills, and my written stories were becoming far more coherent.

Then along came middle school, where I discovered fanfiction (mostly through YouTube. Looking at you LostNarrator). Being an edgy teen freshly entering puberty, I was ready to start writing darker stories about my favorite fictional characters. A lot of these stories included wolves. Yes, I was one of those kids. (let's be honest, I still am one of those kids. 🐺).

By the time that I started high school, we switched from textbooks to iPads, giving me my first chance to access and maintain social media such as Deviantart , Twitter, Tumblr, and Discord chat. With access to these new creative resources, and an iPad Air, I began learning digital art, and posting it. I was able to see what other stories were being told online and how those stories were being told. There were comics, Tumblr ask blogs, animations, Wattpad, Fanfiction.net, audio dramas, and even ARGs.

Enter my college years. Finally, after so much busywork and essays throughout my student career, I was able to take a Scripwriting class. It was at this point that not only did I learn the proper formatting for a screenplay, but also, became more confident in sharing my stories and taking critiques.
